The Killers: A Day Later
Now that my mind is semi-refreshed from last night's amazing Killers concert, I thought I'd point out a few things: I've received a few comments about the lack of photos with this morning's concert review. Again, I wanted to mention that we would have loved to have one of our photographers there taking a few photos here and there, but the band's publicist said that absolutely no cameras would be allowed at the show. I did see a photographer there who was hired by the band, but I have yet to hear from the Killers' publicist regarding those photos. I was impressed with the reception the night's first act, Romance Fantasy, was given by the crowd. I've always thought El Paso audiences are pretty polite when it comes to opening acts by at least giving those bands a good amount of applause (unless they really truly are terrible), but the Romance Fantasy guys got more than their fair share of hoots and hollers, and they deserved it. I was also very impressed by Louis XIV. They sounded better live than they do on their albums, plus they were pretty sexy. Last night's show was sold out, and I mentioned that in my review. However, when I asked one of the ushers about how many people were in the crowd, he said there are about 2,400 seats in the theater, therefore there were at least that many at the show. I had to ask him to repeat that figure, because it seemed way too low. Maybe it was just the fans' enthusiasm during the performances, but I thought there were a whole lot more people than 2,400. Brandon Flowers was on fire! It seemed like he, and the rest of the band for that matter, never got tired during the show, and he obviously gave it his all. From throwing off his sequined suit jacket after the first song to jumping up on the piano, kicking off the flowers that decorated it and pointing the mike at the audience to sing "I got soul/but I'm not a soldier" during "All These Things That I've Done," I've gotta give the man his props. His voice never faltered and his body showed no signs of wear, but I'm sure he's feeling it today.
